Strength & Conditioning

Rebuilding the physical systems that make high performance possible.

Strength and conditioning is a central pillar of the VHP system because physical capability depends on far more than strength alone. Years of high physical and psychological demand often leave athletes and operators managing injuries, accumulated stress, and compromised recovery systems that limit their ability to train and perform at the level they once did.

Expert-Led Strength and Conditioning Program

The VHP Strength and Conditioning Program is delivered by highly qualified professionals with Master’s degrees in human performance–related fields and advanced certifications including Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), ACSM Certified Exercise Physiologist (ACSM-EP), and Certified Performance and Sport Scientist (CPSS). These credentials represent the highest standards in performance science and ensure that training is guided by evidence-based principles and extensive experience working with high-performing populations.

Restoring Movement, Strength, and Performance Capacity

High-level performance depends on more than strength outputs alone. Movement integrity, connective tissue health, nervous system balance, and aerobic capacity all influence an athlete’s ability to train consistently and perform at a high level. When these systems become compromised, athletes often experience persistent pain, fatigue, or diminished performance. The Continue Mission approach focuses first on restoring these foundational systems so participants can rebuild strength, regain movement efficiency, and train with confidence.

What to Expect

The VHP Approach to Strength & Conditioning

Comprehensive Assessment

Each participant begins with a comprehensive assessment that includes movement screening, joint range-of-motion evaluation, positional strength testing, aerobic capacity baselines, and recovery indicators such as sleep patterns and heart rate variability trends.

Individualized Programming

The insights from your comprehensive assessment allow the coaching team to develop a highly individualized training plan aligned with the athlete’s injury history, current readiness, and long-term performance goals. Plans are continuously adjusted to match progress and recovery.

One-on-One Coaching and Integrated Approach

Training is delivered through dedicated one-on-one coaching, allowing each session to adapt to the athlete’s progress and integrate seamlessly with the broader VHP care team in the other modalities, including nutrition, cognitive, body work, and chiropractic care.

Structured Training Programs

Programming commonly incorporates progressive strength development, unilateral and positional stability work, aerobic conditioning, locomotive movement patterns, and tactical work capacity training. As foundational systems improve, athletes gradually reintroduce higher levels of strength, speed, and workload.

High-Frequency Training for Measurable Progress

Participants typically train twice per day on most training days, accumulating up to nine hours of structured training per week, with a dedicated recovery-focused session midweek. These frequent training exposures allow coaches to apply precise training inputs while closely monitoring progress and recovery.

Build Long-Term Strength, Durability, and Resilience

The objective is not simply short-term performance gains. It is to rebuild the systems that support strength, movement efficiency, and long-term durability, allowing participants to return to training and life with greater capability, resilience, and confidence.
